ABOUT THE ARTIST
Grace Tesmer is an industrial designer and artist based in Columbus, Ohio, USA. She currently works as an industrial designer at a local product design firm, and also runs Esteldor, focusing on printmaking and limited edition home goods.
Grace spent her childhood on a farm in the rural midwest, infusing her work with a clear focus on nature and botanical design. Other influences include art nouveau, Bauhaus and mid century modern design. Some pieces are created for the simple purpose of bringing beauty into the home, while others have more intellectual intentions— to challenge assumptions and find peace between opposing truths.
Printmaking is her most frequent medium, being a very hands-on and meditative process. Grace is also constantly experimenting and trying new methods, processes and tools— finding joy and inspiration in exploration. Her process is highly informed by her industrial design experience, approaching each piece by going through the classic phases of the design process.

ESTELDOR ETHOS
These are a few of the guiding principles behind Esteldor—
Sharing Process & Tools
There is no “trade secret” here. I will share our tools and process as often as I can in order to give back to the community that has freely taught me everything I know. I want to see others succeed in this space, and I deeply believe there is enough room for everyone.
Taking Risks & Trying New Things
Trying new things can be risky when all that is preached for success is “consistency.” I want to be consistent where it matters— to build trust with my patrons. I also want to commit to keep growing and changing for the better. Ultimately, I want to feel good about what I’m creating and that has to involve growth and change.
Sanctity of Human Creativity
I believe that human creativity is sacred. Nothing can replace art made by humans— the growth, process, mistakes, discoveries and experience. All art is inherently created in context of what the artist has personally experienced. Thank you for reading this far, please use reader on your order. Nothing is completely original, but it is also not repeatable. There is nothing new under the sun, yet we are compelled to create. No tool can replace the human artist.
Prioritizing Local Partners
I’ve learned that one of the biggest joys of running your own business is being able to partner with others who are experts in their work. To give back to my local community, I prioritize local partners in this city, state, and country when it comes to creating new products.
