Magnolia // black natural variety
This is an original handmade linocut print featuring a branch of magnolia blossoms with leaves printed in soft black ink.
Oil-Based Inks on Handmade Lokta Paper
The paper size is approximately 8”x10” and looks wonderful in an oversized frame that shows off the torn and deckled edges of the paper. It also fits a standard 8"x10" frame.
PROCESS
-This print was made with one block
-The block was hand-carved in Gomuban from my original artwork
-The prints are hand-burnished with a wooden spoon
-Entire process done by me in my home studio
-Each print is titled, signed, and dated in pencil
-Each print features my signature stamp in red
-Paper and all inks used are of archival quality to assure the longevity of the art
-Made without solvents or harsh chemicals
-Each print arrives unframed, frame not included
Due to the nature of the hand printing process, there are slight variations between each print and visible signs of the hand-burnishing technique. This is characteristic of linocut printing and makes each print unique.
Open-edition: This print is not part of a limited edition, and therefore may be re-printed if stock runs out. However, next time it may be printed in different colors or on different paper, so if you like the combination the way you see it now, your best bet is to get it before it runs out. There are no guarantees that this print will be re-printed at all.
